The Solera Senior Living acquisition of SageLife was recently featured in McKnight’s Senior Living. Here is the story in its entirety…
Denver-based Solera Senior Living has expanded its footprint in the Mid-Atlantic region with the acquisition of five SageLife senior living communities in Maryland, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. And Alexandria, VA-based Goodwin Living and Forest Hills of DC have affiliated.
Solera now operates Plush Mills, an independent living and assisted living community in Wallingford, PA; Daylesford Crossing, an assisted living and memory care community in Paoli, PA; Echo Lake, an independent living, assisted living and memory care community in Malvern, PA; Village Crossing at Worman’s Mill, an assisted living and memory care community in Frederick, MD; and Artisan at Hudson, an independent living, assisted living and memory care community in Hudson, MA.
Solera founder and CEO Adam Kaplan and SageLife founder Kelly Cook Andress have known each other for several years through their work on the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care Operator Advisory Board and their partnerships with AEW Capital Management, according to Solera.
“Both organizations share a deep commitment and responsibility to innovation and transformation, resulting in high-quality, person-centered care, excellence in hospitality and an unparalleled resident experience,” Kaplan said. “This is an exciting milestone for both teams, as we are far better positioned today to build a world class, enduring brand that will redefine the senior living expectations for the next generation of residents.”
In conjunction with the acquisition, Andress will be joining Solera’s advisory board. Additionally, five members of SageLife’s corporate team will be joining Solera’s leadership team:
- Kim Smith, vice president of operations
- Beth Anne Maas, regional director of clinical services
- Heather Kato, corporate director of marketing
- Kevin Caruso, operations specialist
- Marybeth Cannon, sales specialist
“Kelly’s visionary leadership transformed the senior living industry, and it’s an honor to carry on her incredible legacy,” Kaplan said.
With the addition of the five properties, Solera now owns a portfolio of 14 properties across nine states.
The acquisition of SageLife comes less than one month after Solera announced that it will assume management of the former Brightview Bethesda Woodmont in Bethesda, MD, from Brightview Senior Living.
